HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY CODE ENFORCEMENT
Thank you for taking the time to comply with Hillsborough County Ordinance 09-59, as amended, also known as the Hillsborough County Foreclosed Property Registry Ordinance. This Ordinance requires that the mortgagee, upon the filing of a lis pendens, or similar instrument in an action to foreclose on real property, register the property with Hillsborough County Code Enforcement and designate and retain a local representative who will be responsible for security and maintenance of the property.

PLEASE NOTE: Incomplete registrations and registrations received without complete payment will be in violation of the ordinance.
Each property registration is valid for one calendar year from the date of registration. Any changes in the information provided on the registration form must be submitted in writing to Hillsborough County Code Enforcement, at the address listed above, within ten (10) days of the change. No charges will be incurred for registration changes.
If the property is sold, the mortgagee must provide proof of sale or written notification to Hillsborough County Code Enforcement at the address provided above.
Failure to register or to comply with the requirements of this Ordinance may result in legal action to compel compliance. This action may include presenting a case before the Code Enforcement Board/Special Magistrate. Any person, or entity, found guilty by the Code Enforcement Board/Special Magistrate may be fined up to $1000 per day for each day the violation continues. All fines incurred through noncompliance will be assessed as a lien against all properties owned by the violator.
